If you're at all like me, your memories are often triggered by the photos you take of your child. When you see the snapshot of your little one on their bike...their feet a blur because they're peddling so fast, you remember all the skinned knees it took to get them there. And remember the snapshot you captured just as your little one climbed on to the bus for the first time? You kept a brave face, even though you remember wanting to chase the bus down as it pulled away from the curb. Those everyday snapshots are priceless because of the memories and feelings contained within them. Whether they're perfectly composed doesn't matter so long as anytime you look at them, they trigger the memory...and the memory triggers the feelings.
So why should you invest in one or more fine art portraits of your child if you already have, as I do, thousands of snapshots? Well, to put it simply, I want to provide you more than a snapshot...as wonderful as they are. I want to create a portrait of your child that encapsulates all the changes that have been and yet gives a glimpse of those yet to come. The beauty of childhood is that it is so fleeting, and therefore so precious. I want to create a portrait that makes your heart swell and perhaps also makes it ache just a little, because you understand that even in the moments between my creating the images and you receiving them, your child has continued to evolve and will never again be what they were on that day. I want this to be a portrait you'll want to display for years to come because it's a constant reminder of the beauty that was, is, and always will be your child.

Once upon a time…

The Little Golden Book Gown
I LOVE to make gowns out of unconventional materials, such as this one…all made from the pages of Little Golden Books. This dress has been sold, but I have others at the studio, and am always open to making more! If your little girls has a certain love for something…let’s turn it into a unique gown for her photo session. You will end up with images that are truly unique!
